FIRST REGIONAL MATCH FOR THE U14s
This was a highly anticipated match for Bolts as it was their first regional match. Despite a lot of nerves the girls didn’t disappoint. In the first quarter, the girls all came out fighting, giving it 100% to get the early lead. Interceptions and accurate shooting meant Bolts took the lead 17-5.
In the 2nd quarter, we brought on some fresh legs which kept up the momentum and Bolts were able to extend their lead, 26-8.
In the 3rd quarter, we were able to try new combinations in defence and the attack kept getting stronger with some great feeds into the circle. It shows what a versatile team Bolts are as they still put on a strong performance. They were now winning 36-13.
The final quarter saw more of the same. Excellent teamwork and play from all the girls. Super defence kept the Westside score to a minimum and centre court were able to bring the ball down to the shooters, who very rarely missed. It was a great team effort from all, which secured Bolts their first win 44-15. Keep up the good work.
